This song was written by Don ("Dyno-D"). It is dedicated to Don's son-in-law Sean, who saved some Parks Canada horses from the 2024 wildfire in Jasper National Park.
I Will Ride
There’s open plains
There’s forests green
There’s streams that can’t hold the rain
There’s mountains high
‘neath bright blue skies
Steep river valleys to be seen
I will ride in the morning sun
I will ride in the rain
I will ride ‘til my days are done
And I can’t ride again
People make fences
They make stone walls
Some only speak in past tenses
Why draw a boundary
around open country?
Turn time into a tiny stall
It looks like rain
The sky is gray
And rumbling like a train
Rain’s on the way
It’s gonna numb the pain
What more can I say?
